This was my first Gallery in Minneapolis, from 1982-1985, located at 308 Washington Avenue North, in the old warehouse district. These are photographs from Nuts on Bolts,a 15 artist fiber show, all members of Surface Design Minnesota, which took place in 1983. 
Nuts on Bolts featured "yardage, before the finished piece." SACK'S Gallery exhibited many artists from the Twin Cities, mixing "fine art" and "fine craft". Many of the working fiber artists and U of M design department graduates found this a welcoming exhibition space. The entire history of my gallery exhibitions, with written and photographic documentation, is in the permanent collection of the Minnesota Historical Society.

The trip to Minnesota is over. 
It was many things but in the final analysis it was 
most rewarding, 
quite lovely, 
enjoyable and a best of all 
time spent with all of the Susan's together. 
Old friends, good food, lots of countryside, and copious amounts of moisture.

​Civil War, which are included in the Christie Family Collection, several published books,
a segment of Ken Burns' Civil War series,

THE Magazine - Dec '12/Jan'13 has published my Critical Reflection of Harold Joe Waldrum's Exhibition "Windows"  @ RioBravoFineArt in Truth or Consequences. This is an exhibition of Waldrum's early work, before the church paintings. They are the essential part of his history, his process, and his life as an artist in New Mexico. As far as I am concerned, you cannot build a garden without the underlying structure. That which is unseen. These paintings are his foundation and the churches, as wonderful and historic as they are, are the landscape planted over the granite.

Thru a web contact this painting reappeared after many years. I painted it during a stay at the Lodge at Lutsen, MN, on the shore of Lake Superior. The woman who has the painting said she spent many winter days with her "family at the Lodge growing up––skiing, eating amazing food, just hanging out by the fire, playing cards and drinking cocoa––those holidays are amongst my favorite memories of childhood." How spectacular to see this favorite painting again. The Northern Minnesota sky, in the winter, is cool yellow in the afternoons.
